The 8th Rivers Awards Composition Competition has received extensive attention from Chinese and international composers since the announcement of the competition rules in January 2019. Through careful and diligent review, ten finalists were selected by the jury members from all the 113 entries the Organizing Committee has received from all over the world.

6. To the Tune of LiuYao – For Xindi, Pipa, Erhu, Piano, 2 Violins, Viola, Cello and Double Bass
7. Pendulum Trigonometry – For Erhu, Violin, Cello, Pipa and Piano
8. The Very Time of Blossom – For Flute, Piano, Violin, Viola and Cello
9. Dark Blue – For Pipa, Erhu and String Quartet
10. Zigzagging – For Erhu, 2 Violins, Viola and Cello
