三、比赛要求
1.作品内容:反映时代精神,题材健康,手法新颖,富有艺术感染力。
2.参赛要求:本比赛不收取报名费;参赛作曲家的年龄需为45周岁以下(1976年12月31日以后出生),无国籍、地区和职业限制,专业作曲家和作曲专业师生均可参赛。
3.作品编制:作品需使用下列指定乐器的中西混合编制,为3-9位表演者而作。
①乐器编制和演奏家人数:1笛子(含箫)、1琵琶、1二胡与1钢琴、2小提琴、1中提琴、1大提琴、1低音提琴。
②本次比赛不接受与预制录音或电子音乐相关的作品。
4.作品长度:5-8分钟之间,其具体长度必须在总谱扉页上注明。
5.作品要求:必须是本人创作,未正式出版和获奖的作品;每人限提交1部清晰的乐谱;对有特殊要求的演奏技法或演奏形式,须用文字详细说明;作品不得署名,不得有与乐曲无关的标记,违者取消参赛资格。
6.报名所需材料:
电子文件(按照电子邮箱):在截稿日期前,将1)一份清晰的乐谱(PDF格式);2)一份正确填写的并由参赛者签名的报名表;3)一张二寸(33m*49mm)近照;4)一张有效身份证或护照(有参赛者照片及出生日期页)等4项资料内容以电子文件的方式发送到: racc@shcmusic.edu.cn
7.截稿日期:2022年8月30日(星期二)下午5:00之前,将报名材料发送至指定邮箱。如需咨询或有任何疑问,参赛者可与比赛办公室联系。
8.不符合以上比赛条款者将取消参赛资格(组委会、评委会成员不得有作品参赛),参赛资料由主办方妥善存档,一律不予退还。

四、评选办法
1.为保证比赛的公平公正,参赛作品将统一编号进行匿名评选。
2.比赛分两阶段进行:初赛以阅谱形式评选出十部决赛入围作品;决赛以现场音乐会的形式,评选出最终的奖项。为维护比赛的严肃性、权威性,根据实际情况个别奖项可以空缺。
3.奖项与奖金:
本比赛设置:一等奖1名、二等奖2名、三等奖3名、优秀奖4
一等奖奖金: 10,000.00美元
二等奖奖金: 5,000.00美元
三等奖奖金: 1,500.00美元
优秀奖奖金: 1,000.00美元

五、[百川奖]决赛音乐会、颁奖仪式
1.入围决赛的作曲家需出席决赛音乐会与获奖作品高峰论坛。入围作曲家的旅费和比赛期间在上海的食宿由主办方承担。
2. [百川奖]决赛音乐会时间:2022年10月12日(星期三)下午7:15;地点:beat365英国官方网站贺绿汀音乐厅。
3. 决赛音乐会结束,当场产生评选结果,并举行颁奖仪式。
六、[百川奖]获奖作品高峰论坛
1.论坛时间、地点、参与人员:
①论坛时间:2022年10月13日(星期四)上午9:00 -11:30
②论坛地点:beat365英国官方网站(具体教室待确定)
③参会人员:入围作曲家、评委专家、乐团演奏家、上音作曲指挥系师生及其他参会人员
2.高峰论坛内容:
①主办方代表和评委会主席致辞;
②获奖作曲家对获奖作品的简要陈述(每人限五分钟);
③比赛评委专家对获奖作品的点评、讨论;
④乐团指挥、演奏家对作品演奏技术上的点评、讨论;
⑤获奖作曲家、比赛评委、乐团指挥家、演奏家、上音作曲指挥系师生等参会人员交流;
⑥主办方代表总结发言,发布第十二届【百川奖】比赛信息。
七、其他
1.相关权利:
①获奖者拥有作品著作权。
②获奖者须同意无偿提供并授予主办方如下权利:
a.主办方有权对获奖作品的乐谱以及任何形式的声像制品作非商业性使用;
b.主办方拥有获奖作品的首演权以及演出和出版优先权。
③获奖作品无论在何处上演,根据获奖等级,其乐谱封面或音乐会节目单上需注明本次比赛的获奖信息,例如:
“本作品获得2022第十一届[百川奖]作曲比赛三等奖”
2.评委会对比赛的评定,为本比赛不可改变的最后决定。
3.比赛另有两份附件。附件I:比赛报名表;附件II:中国乐器简介及音域表(仅附英文版简章中)

The11th Rivers Awards Composition Competition(RACC)-2022
Regulations
General Provisions
The Rivers Awards Composition Competition (RACC) aims to promote extensive exchange between Chinese and Western music, encouraging innovative and explorative composition for Chinese and Western musical instruments, and build a high-end platform to introduce outstanding original musical works to the public.
Organization
Host: Shanghai Conservatory of Music(SHCM)
Organizer: The Composition and Conducting Department at Shanghai Conservatory of Music
Jury: The jury panel will consist of experts and professors from prestigious Chinese and international music institutions.
Competition Requirements
A positive theme that embodies the spirit of the contemporary era is a basic requirement for the entries of this competition, which should be created with novel methods and rich in artistic appeal.
This competition is open to participants under the age of 45 (born after December 31st, 1976) regardless of their nationality, location and profession. Professional composers, teachers or students specializing in composition are all welcomed. There is no participation fee required for the application.
The submission must be composed for a mixture of listed Chinese and Western musical instruments (targeting a number of three to nine performers in total). The ensemble set must imperatively include at least one Chinese instrument with one Western instrument from below:
One Dizi-bamboo flute (doubling Xiao), one Pipa, one Erhu, one piano, two violins, one viola, one cello, one double bass
*It is important to note that pre-recorded music or electronic music compositions will not be accepted
The duration of the music should be 5-8 minutes and be marked clearly on the first page of the score.
The compositions submitted for this competition should be of original music work composed by each participant him/herself that has not been officially published or awarded. Each participant should provide a clean and clear score of his/her composition anonymously. Explanations are necessary for special requirements on performing techniques or forms. If any sign or mark made on the score that has no relation to the work itself, the participant would be disqualified immediately.
Required application materials (must be in the electronic form andsent by e-mail) include:
i) One clean and clear score by the participant (PDF only)
ii) One filled-out participation form that is signed by the participant him/herself
iii) One photo of the participant taken recently (33mmX49mm)
iv) One piece of valid ID copy (could be the National Identification Card or Passport) that contains a photo and the exact date of birth of participant
Please email all these electronic documents mentioned above to the Organizing Committee at racc@shcmusic.edu.cn before the deadline.
All the required materials must be submitted by e-mail before 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30, 2022. Participants may contact the Organizing Committee if they have any questions or enquiries.
Participant who doesn’t meet the above requirements will be disqualified (Members of the jury panel and the organizing committee are not allowed to take part in the competition). All materials submitted will be kept on file by the host and will not be returned.

Procedure of Selection
To ensure fairness of the competition, all the composition works will be numbered and sealed up before selection.
The competition will be divided into two stages. The preliminary round will be based on the submitted scores and ten finalists will be selected. The finals will take place in the form of a final live performance, where the award-winning compositions will be selected and announced. Due to the seriousness and authoritativeness of the competition, certain awards will be left vacant if no composition meets the grading criteria.

The finalists should participate in the final live concert and the summit forum of Rivers Awards-Winning works, with their travel and accommodation expenses during the competition in Shanghai covered by the Host.

The winners of the competition will be announced on site upon the completion of the concert, which will be followed by the awards ceremony.
The Composer Forum of Rivers Awards – Winning Works
Basic Information:
Time: 9:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. Thursday, October 13, 2022
Venue: on campus of the Shanghai Conservatory Music (Details will be informed later.)
Participants: competition finalists, jury members, performers, teachers and students at the Department of Composition and Conducting, and other conferees
Summit Agenda:
Speeches by the representative of the organizer and the chairman of the jury panel
Brief introduction of their works by prize winners (five minutes for each)
Comments and discussions on prize-winning works by jury members
Comments and discussions on prize-winning works by conductors and performers
Communication and idea-exchange among conferees, including the competition finalists, jury members, conductors, performers, teachers and students of the Composition and Conducting Department
Closing speech by the representative from organizer, and the release of competition information for the 12th RACC in the following year
Other Terms
Relevant Rights:
The award winner holds the copyright of the winning composition.
The award winner must agree to grant the following rights to the Host free of charge:
The organizer has the right to use the award-winning composition or any other forms of audio-visual products for non-commercial purpose.
The organizer has the right to premiere the award-winning composition and the priority to publish and perform the winning composition.
Each award-winning composition, regardless of when and wherever it is performed, should be noted as “a *** prize-winning composition of the 11th Rivers Awards Composition Competition (2022)” on the score cover or the program list of a concert.
For example:
This work has won the 3rd Prize at the 11th Rivers Award Composition Competition, 2022.
The decision on the result of the competition made by the jury panel should be hold as final and definitive.
There are two appendixes attached to this document, including a registration form (Annex I, which needs to be filled out and submitted) and an introduction of Chinese instruments and pitch range table (Annex II, for reference only).
The right of interpretation of the above provisions is vested in the Organizing Committee.
